In Loving Memory of Sharon McGhee
A Warrior’s Spirit

Sharon McGhee
May 9, 1959 - May 24, 2012
Sharon McGhee was the kind of woman whose love lived loudly through her actions, her faith, her strength, and the way she made people feel safe, seen, and cared for. She was more than a beloved family member; she was a light in her community and a steady foundation in every room she entered.
A devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Sharon carried herself with dignity, integrity, and a rare kind of selflessness. She was ethical, hardworking, deeply compassionate, and always stepping forward to help others, whether it was supporting family through difficult times or quietly uplifting those in need. Sharon didn’t just offer love; she modeled it, living each day with purpose, humility, and grace.
In 2010, Sharon was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, beginning a battle that would reveal the full measure of her courage. For nearly two years, from 2010 to 2012, she fought with a resilience that inspired everyone around her. Through countless challenges, she anchored herself in faith, gratitude, and unwavering strength. She never allowed illness to define her spirit, and she never surrendered her identity to fear. Sharon faced every milestone, every difficult day, and every hard moment with courage, dignity, and a quiet determination that made her nothing short of remarkable.
Even at her lowest, Sharon had a gift: she could still find joy. She smiled. She laughed. And she somehow made everyone around her do the same. Her presence reminded others that strength doesn’t always roar, it sometimes shows up as a gentle laugh, a loving glance, or the decision to keep hope alive when life is heavy.
Sharon fought until the very end, and on May 24, 2024, she transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years alone, but in impact. Her strength and resilience were unmatched, and her dignity through it all shined bright. Sharon was, and will always remain; a true Warrior, Superwoman, and a symbol of grace under pressure and love in action.
Sharon’s Lotus Cancer Foundation carries her name not only to honor her battle, but to preserve her spirit, a spirit that reminds us that even in the darkest moments, love can rise and healing can begin.
